When do you do your Insanity workouts?

This is Fast and Furious – here I am wrapping up the 63 day Insanity (Shaun T) workout program. I substituted a workout with the amazing 25 minute fast & furious workout included from Beachbody.

This is a great workout and it will have you sweating just like the other 45 minute of 60 minute workouts by Shaun T in Insanity.

Push-Up Competition

lg share en Push Up Competition

When I was younger my friends and I liked to play pool a lot. So to make it a little more fun, we started playing pool for push-ups. Whichever team lost a round would have to do 25 or 50 push-ups. This wasn’t a lot but after a night of playing pool someone was doing a good amount of push-ups.

While doing one of my Insanity workouts I was thinking back to the fun we had, and I came up with this idea to do a Push-up competition for the Youtube world.

A year into my P90X and Insanity workouts, I have decided to start this competition off with 20 jump push-ups. I did these after a good round of insanity and I was fired up.

Post your craziest and best push-ups. You need to register first, and then post your video as a reply. I am keeping the registration open – then we will have competitions through the end of October.

P90X Nutrition a Shakeology recipe -a quick easy health meal

lg share en P90X Nutrition a Shakeology recipe a quick easy health meal

I have been asked many times about Shakeology, regarding the quality, taste and ease of use.

The first thing I tell everyone about the quality of this shake/nutrition, is that it was exclusively developed by Beachbody the company that has brought us workouts like P90X and Insanity. These workouts programs are the best in the industry and so are the Beachbody nutrition products.

There are so many products to choose from, just go into any healthfood store, GNC or Vitamin Shoppe, and you will see rows and rows of options. The employees of these shops typically cannot tell you the difference of one product to the other. I know this because I was there researching what protein and vitamins to use. I did a lot of my own research until I found what I wanted.

This was all before truly discovering the Beachbody nutrition products. I thought to myself, just as I said above, P90X is the best program so the nutrition they are recommending must have been thoroughly researched and it must be good.

For someone who doesn’t want to be bogged down with finding what to take, Beachbody has taken the guess work out of it.

The intensity of the P90X or Insanity workouts will have your body craving supplements. Don’t bother with the store, just order it where you ordered your amazing workout program.

Here is a video showing you how easy it is to make a Shakeology shake.

ENJOY!!!

Insanity Workout Review | LIVE insanity workout clips from Day 58 – FAST & FURIOUS

lg share en Insanity Workout Review | LIVE insanity workout clips from Day 58 FAST & FURIOUS

I am coming up on the end of my Insanity 2 month workout. I have actually extended it a little longer than the normal schedule, as I missed a few days of workout while traveling, and put in P90X in place of Insanity.

There were also a few days that I simply didn’t have time for a full one hour workout, so I did the Fast & Furious workout instead. If you are not familiar with Fast & Furious, this is an amazing, let me repeat AMAZING 25 minute heart throbbing, drenched with sweat kind of workout with Shaun T.

If you thought that you can’t get this kind of workout in 25 minutes, then think again.

Check this video out and judge for yourself.

It is 1130PM and I am bringing it to the mat just like it was the middle of the afternoon. Then I got up the next morning and did a 630am workout. That is dedication.

Insanity Workout Review – Day 61 – Core Cardio & Balance

lg share en Insanity Workout Review Day 61 Core Cardio & Balance

Today was a 38 minute workout. I actually was looking forward to a shorter workout today.

Don’t under estimate a workout from Insanity just because it is short. When you show up you are they to ‘Dig Deep’ and workout to your max.

So I did just that. When I my son was getting a little antsy and wanted to by picked up, so I incorporated him into the workout. Sometimes he likes to do the workout next to us, other times he is playing and times like today he simply wants to be picked up.

So while doing part of the workout today, I did it holding my 31 pound son. He laughed and I got to do squats and standing on one leg exercises with 31 extra pounds.

He also likes to be involved with results and recovery shake. So while he loves the Beachbody Results and Recovery, he gets 3 parts OJ and 1 part water for his recovery and during workout drink.

I love involving him in the workouts and seeing how much he has learned from the workouts.

What’s amazing is that I bought the kids version of the workout by Tony Horton, and the pace was too slow for him. He likes the fast paced music and movements from P90X and Insanity.

He is jumping, kicking, and asks to do pull ups. We all get a real kick out of it.

So if you have kids, I recommend involving them in your workout.

Insanity Workout Review – Day 60 – Max Interval Circuit

lg share en Insanity Workout Review Day 60 Max Interval Circuit

Last night I really pushed myself and dug as deep as I could to get in a late night workout. I wanted to get in Max Interval Circuit yesterday, but you know life stuff got in the way.

So at 11pm I pulled out the Fast and Furious – 25 minute Insanity workout – and pushed it with everything I had for 25 minutes.

This morning we were up and working out at 630am to do Max Interval Circuit and we knocked it out. Even my son was up to do it with us.

I still could feel the exertion from the night before, and it felt like I was doing doubles. But it felt good.

There are now 3 full days of Insanity workout left, and I am looking forward to doing the fit test again.

I want to make a point here about making videos. Its great to post so to help other people who are looking into this great workout program. But it is also very useful in helping correct your own posture and positioning during the different exercises. I saw a few from last night which I changed today.

Stay tuned for more to come…

Insanity Workout Review – Day 58 – Max Cardio Conditioning and Cardio Abs

lg share en Insanity Workout Review Day 58 Max Cardio Conditioning and Cardio Abs

This is day 2 for the final week of Insanity. We have come a long way and I feel amazing. I have so many thoughts going through my mind right now about this workout, and they all are positive.

When I started P90X I didn’t know anything about Insanity. Which is fine. But now that I have discovered it and almost finished it – leaves me feeling like I can accomplish anything at this point.

Today was Max Cardio Conditioning with Cardio abs. A 45 minute workout on Max Cardio, followed by 16 minutes of Cardio Abs.

I have to say that neither one is slow paced, and both will have you taking breaks. I really like the fact that they workout video shows different people taking breaks, and even Shaun T taking breaks. This outside of the normal 30 second break.

Insanity is just that – and it isn’t for the squeamish. However, it is amazing.

Each person must take this workout at their own personal pace, but that being said you have to push yourself beyond your comfort zone. Getting beyond your comfort zone is critical to improvement – you will know it when your body feels like it can go further, but your mind says no – this is it. So when your there push yourself a little further. It may be and extra push up, or an extra jump – just do it and you will be outside of that zone.

I am working out the details of another video for next week which will be a full review of both P90X and Insanity. Check it out to hear my thoughts on this.

Until then – 5 more days until the end of Insanity.

    Stay tune.

Insanity Workout Review – Week 8 – Max Interval Plyo

lg share en Insanity Workout Review Week 8 Max Interval Plyo

This is the home stretch for our Insanity workout. I am looking back to day 1 and the excitement I felt before starting, really not knowing what to expect.

Next week I am going to be taking pictures once again. I know that I have made tremendous gains in my cardio, speed, agility, and internal stength.

From my pictures on day 30 of the Insanity workout – I can see some changes from my final days with P90X.

I have expected some muscle loss with Insanity, as I have increased the intensity of my cardio workout with Insanity and drastically reduced the weight lifting to only body weight movements.

I can see gains in my core with good stengthening of the Abs. More muscle tone around the chest and back.

I know that my stength and speed have increased in my upper and lower body.

Yesterday after completing a 25 minute ‘Fast and Furious’ workout, I made a video doing 20 jump push-ups getting my toes and hands off the ground. I saw Tony Horton do these inP90X, but I haven’t been able to do them until I tried yesterday.

Today during the Max Interval Plyo workout, I could really feel the spring in my leg muscles. With each squat and jump I could feel the power of the muscle springing me upwards.

    Truly amazing.

P90X really got me into shape. But this past almost 2 months with Insanity is taking my gains and helping push me to the next level.

Watch out next round as we get ready to get back to basics with P90X and combine some Insanity Cardio for the next 90 days. Then getting ready for P90X2.

That’s right P90X2- I am really looking forward to this next workout routine. I feel like a Beachbody workout groupie.

I am going to bring you comments each day for the next 7 days as I wrap up this first round of Insanity.

At the end I am going to give a complete video review and compare my experiences with P90X, P90X Plus and Insanity.

I am also going to update my home page with a brand new transformation video, and pictures showing my changes from Day 1 of P90X all the way to my last day with Insanity.

Stay tuned there is more amazing things yet to come.

Also, if you haven’t checked it out yet- I have issue a Push-Up challenge. Link to be inserted here, and to be found on my home page when it begins.
